Cocoa Island

Location:
Cocoa Island is a private island, locally known as Makunufushi, located in the South Male Atoll. It is 30km south of Male International Airport. The island is reached by a 30-minute direct speedboat transfer provided by the resort (airport pick-up and drop-off US$110 per adult return US$60 per child 4-12yrs, free for child 0-3 yrs). Major international airlines flying into the Maldives include a daily direct service from Singapore with Singapore Airlines, a six-time weekly direct service with Air India from Trivandrum, and a five-time weekly direct service from Dubai with Emirates. All these airlines connect with London, New York and Paris.

Interior Design:
Architecture: Contemporary timber water villas called Dhonis with architectural accents of traditional Maldivian boats and buildings. The experience is in living close to the water, with all Dhonis and villas situated directly above the sea, each has its own private verandah with steps leading directly to the gin-clear waters of the Maldivian sea. Interiors: The Dhonis are decorated in a stylish, elegant and simple way with light and airy rooms, their inspiration drawn from South Indian and colonial furniture, using local fabrics and traditional colours. Light white cottons with delicate Indian embroidery and detail are seen throughout.
