GIANT SUIRRELFISH
Habitat: coral reef and lagoons
Depth: 2-37m.
Size: up to 22cm.
Characteristics: it is the most common species among the sub family of Soldierfish belonging to the Holocentridae family. Like other species of its family it has very big eyes and bright red scales; its fins are typically white edged (see detail photo), except for the dorsal one which is entirely red. It lives mostly in shallow water swimming in very large schools in unsheltered areas.
